Then we need your help to design great connectivity solutions across and within ABN AMRO's IT Platforms.
Your job
As a Senior Connectivity Architect, you:
- Write Solution Architectures and Target State Designs for Global Connectivity Solutions. You drive direction setting for global hybrid solutions across Internet, Cloud (Azure), SaaS and on-prem datacentres
- You’re in the driving seat for Architecture Runways, you co-create them together with the Infrastructure Platform- and Product Owners.
- Are the ‘goto-expert’ for Architecture on connectivity.
- Review Solution Architectures as a gatekeeper to make sure it’s compliant with our target state direction going forward.
- Work with Product Management to develop new or enhance existing Connectivity Services. This includes participating in vendors discussions, planning and execution of Proof of Concepts, equipment evaluation, cost analysis, and road map discussions.
Understand that connectivity is way broader than network alone. You can find the right balance for topics like network, policy management, security and application integration. You are the gatekeeper of our Network Strategy.
Working environment
As IT-architect you’ll be part of the Architecture & Platform Strategy department with around 30 other Platform (IT) Architects. A&PS is responsible for the overall design and architecture of ABN AMRO’s IT-Platforms. A&PS is organized in mainly Technology Clusters to give focus to ABN AMRO’s platform technology areas being:
- Platform Cluster. You’ll be working in this tech cluster. It is responsible for the technical architecture of all Private Infrastructure services and products, like compute, virtualization, database, (virtual) network and storage platforms.
- Products Cluster. The core of this cluster is based on Microsoft Azure. ABN AMRO increases on Cloud adoption.
- Adoption and Consultancy Cluster. Every new application needs to ask permission to run on a platform. In an early stage we try to help the ABN AMRO developer community by assisting all the teams with their platform onboarding process.
- Data & Integrations. This cluster is responsible for offering a Standardized Data and Analytics Platform, and standard Integration patterns, evaluating tools related to Data and Analytics, defining and maintaining Architectural Standards and Guidelines, and supporting the Bank in Data-related decisions.
The A&PS department is part of the Platform & Technology business unit. P&T runs a standardized IT-landscape supporting all thousands of business applications. Key is flexibility to adopt new technology like cloud and support DevOps. P&T offers a wide range of self-service platform solution to the wider ABN AMRO organization. Reliable, compliant and Always on are our core values. Within P&T we mainly work in an Agile and DevOps fashion. The A&PS clusters have their own backlog, prioritized by a Lead Domain Architect.
Your profile
You’re an inspirator to fellow team members and senior stakeholders. You know how to drive decision making and how to find a balance between abstract architectural discussions and concrete direction setting.
You have strong conceptual and practical knowledge for Layer 3 and Layer 2 WAN+LAN networking standards and concepts and practical knowledge with Azure with focus on networking elements.
Strong knowledge of security concepts related to network based on Cisco, Cisco ACI and Azure Technologies.
Experience with design and interoperability of network overlays Cisco ACI, VMware NSX-T, Calico (e.g., routing, firewalls, load balancers). Experience with scripting languages and Automation tools. Specific experience with Ansible is a plus. You also have a good conceptual and practical knowledge of Mainframe, Windows, Redhat Linux and VMWare.Strong documentation skills using MS Office, PowerPoint and Archimate (network diagrams, test plans/results, configuration guides, design documentation).
We are offering
- The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
- The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
- Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
- Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
