Senior Full Stack Developer

What you are going to do

You will be part of the Data Mall department of NN Life and Pension. One of our clients is the finance department of NN Life and Pension. We support them by developing the .NET web application used to run the processes of financial reporting. Our users operate under tight timelines: they value reliability, speed, auditability and automation. As member of one of our DevOps teams in the Data Mall department, you will be amongst others responsible for:

• Contributing to the implementation of the IT-architecture roadmap for our finance domain
• Preparing and realizing of epics and user stories for the design, programming, testing, implementing and running of a front end system, Web API, back end system, database
• Continuously accelerating and improving the performance of our applications and infrastructure
• Pro-actively preventing and solving incidents and problems
• Participating in Agile/Scrum sessions with our business partners
• Developing high-quality code in .NET including MVC based front-end web app and interaction with the underlying SQL databases
• Building Azure DevOps Pipelines for CI/CD
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
• Participating in refinement sessions to translate the user requirements into workable and maintainable technical solutions
• Staying up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices

Azure/DevOps desired skillset:

• Building, maintaining and troubleshooting Azure DevOps Pipelines (YAML) for CI/CD. Monitor failures
• Propose innovative or best practices solutions to existing DevOps infrastructure in the team
• Experience with migrating on-premises applications to Azure is preferred

Who you are

As a full-stack .NET/Azure developer you are able to explain complex matters simply and you like to work Agile. You are assertive and curious. Problem-solving skills are essential for addressing issues during development. Teamwork and collaboration are vital for working well within the DevOps team. Critical thinking and a proactive attitude drive continuous improvement and innovation.

In addition to the above skills, you also bring:

• A bachelor or master degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Economics, Econometrics or another quantitative science
• Working experience in .NET and Azure; Microsoft certifications are a plus
• Hands on with C#, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, REST API, Azure DevOps, git, PowerShell, Entity Framework, YAML pipelines, Razor pages
• Ability to write a neat and maintainable code, including automated tests
• Passion for innovation, proactive attitude, and great communication skills in English, our business language
• And of course you have a flexible mind set and love to work in a dynamic team

You work closely together in a close-knit team within a department of approximately 100 people.

Your colleagues all have a passion for data and IT and the mixture of different nationalities and levels of seniority ensures that everybody can feel at home and perform at his or her best. You will work with other software developers, ops specialists, database developers and subject matter experts on the finance domain. We work in an Agile way towards common goals in which each team member has a lot of individual responsibility. Our teams can be characterized as committed, open and result oriented.
