Requirements Settings Team (RST) is responsible for setting bank wide Credit Risk requirements in order to achieve regulatory compliance across the Credit Risk Life Cycle. Credit Risk requirements detail credit risk regulation and credit risk strategy so that it can be executed across ABN AMRO. We achieve this goal by delivering documents and guidance on complex Credit Risk related topics related to e.g. CRR/CRD/RTS/EBA regulations and guidelines. RST acts as a consulted stakeholder within second line Credit Risk on projects withing ABN AMRO. We are dedicated to pro-actively help the ABN AMRO different business lines to achieve compliance.
Your job
We are looking for Risk professionals who are Credit Risk allrounders that understand regulations from a conceptual and practical angle and who know the key 1st line business processes. Regulatory credit risk is the core of our business. RST helps to move regulatory aspects towards practically implementable requirements and supporting guidance. This is done by combining writing, listening, explaining, and convincing many different stakeholders. The ideal candidate takes regulatory knowledge to our client units to explain what is required and supports them by participating in critical and constructive dialogues. Experience with project management is a must since you will have to independently manage a complex project of 3 to 5 people. You are expected to have and/or develop strategic vision and how to embed this in discussions and deliverables
Not one day is the same as the team is involved with the remediation of ECB obligations, calculation standards and data requirements for the RWA calculation, COREP exposure classes, rating assignment, connected clients, group support, credit risk reporting, etc. Subjects cover varieties of retail and wholesale banking and wealth management for ABN AMRO’s businesses in- and outside The Netherlands. The activities of the team rely on strong knowledge of the CRR/CRD/EBA/CoRep/FinRep as well as a thorough understanding of how the banking business in the 1st line works. This understanding is the foundation to translate all these regulations iteratively into usable documents.
Working environment
RST is one of the four teams in the Credit Risk Oversight and Strategy department (CROS). In our roles within CROS we work closely with our colleagues within Credit Risk. We also liaise closely with Modelling teams, IT teams, interdisciplinary implementation teams (GRIDs),Policy department, internal Basel Centre, and crucially experts and teams in the different 1st line commercial areas. Hence, in your role with us you will have to be able to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders towards whom you can stand your ground, find the heart of the matter, and have persuasiveness
The Requirements Settings Team is growing and the current team currently consists of 12 ambitious people from all around the world. This diversity is considered as a team asset. Your profile
We are looking for a colleague with broad experience in Credit Risk and a thorough understanding of the banking business. Regulatory knowledge comes with practical experience in writing (policy) documents and regulatory implementations. Flexibility is a required skill and curiosity and self-motivated drive is a great personal asset in this role. You quickly feel comfortable with new subjects and are able to coordinate and control the related work allocation towards colleagues where deadlines can be challenging. Additionally, you can oversee the impact of new regulations throughout ABN Amro.
You are a great fit if you get excited about these complex subjects and challenging environment, and feel that you can contribute to the mission of Credit Risk throughout ABN AMRO and can relate to the following:
- You are a fast thinker that can work on detailed questions as well as overarching challenges
- You have 10+ years of experience in a relevant position preferably in both the 1st and 2nd line that is over and beyond regulatory reporting aspects
- You are able to understand regulations and explain the essences in an understandable way to different audiences
- You have extensive knowledge of the very broad credit risk related regulations
- You have excellent overall communications skills (English)
- You like working in a project orientated surrounding where you will at times drive projects

- The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
