The department is a joined team operating in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands, led by the Head of Client Tax and dealing with local and international tax requirements and reporting. In the role of a Senior Tax Specialist (Manager Client Tax), you will be part of the Client tax team located in Amsterdam, where we are currently 4 tax specialists with international tax background. You will be closely cooperating with Tax Technology team, Operations, Brokerage and other stakeholders. As a Tax manager you will be ensuring timely and accurate tax reporting, supporting business initiatives with respect to operational taxes and assisting the team with day-to-day activities.
What you will be doing
- Identifying and managing risks in the area of product and client taxes (Dutch personal income tax, Dutch and foreign withholding taxes, FTT, etc.) and reporting
- Supervising and controlling Dutch tax reporting (for example “Renseignering-Reporting”), also with regard to pension/savings products and regulatory requirements
- Implementation of regulatory-driven, tax law requirements, including development of technical specifications for IT teams
- Participating in preparation of international tax reporting; in particular CRS, FATCA and QI (QDD, QSL) as well as reporting of financial transaction taxes
- Collaboration in product and services approval processes and independent preparation of tax law requirements; for example, crypto currency trading
- Supervision of withholding tax concepts and their procedural optimization within the bank, including relief at source and tax reclaim services development
- Supporting Service Desk in responding clients’ requests related to tax topics
- Developing and documenting of new procedures in connection with product and client taxes
What you bring us
- Academic tax degree (e.g. master in tax law or tax economics). A lower level of education possible with an extension of required experience
- 4+ years of recent and relevant working experience in an international tax advisory firm or/and in the banking or financial market sector and preferably in a comparable in-house tax position
- Experiences in the responsibilities described above
- Very good understanding of the Dutch personal income taxation and reporting
- International tax experiences, understand of OECD and European DAC concepts
- Data management skills (searching, analysis, extracting, formatting, etc.)
- Readiness to develop skills in the area of IT systems and Data Bases
- High analytical skills as well as a reliable and independent way of working
- Project-Management skills can be an advantage
- Very good presentation and communication skills in Dutch and English (German is considered a plus)
