Head of IT
What is the role about?
The Head of IT will be responsible for leading and growing the IT department, driving the strategy and delivery of IT services, and managing the company's technology infrastructure to meet business needs. This role requires excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as a deep understanding of IT systems and processes.
How will you make an impact?
- Develop and implement the IT department's strategy, including systems management, service desk, and engineering, in line with the company's goals and objectives.
- Drive the delivery of IT services across the organization, ensuring high quality, availability, and security.
- Manage and optimize the company's technology infrastructure—including Google Workspace, MDM, Okta, and office networks—operating within a zero trust security model to meet business needs.
- Lead and develop the IT team by recruiting, hiring, and training new team members
- Drive the department's progress towards established goals, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and that timelines are met.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including senior leaders and department heads, to ensure the IT department meets business needs and drives the organization forward.
- Act as a technical advisor to the organisation, providing guidance and recommendations for new tools and services and tools.
How will you be successful?
- At least 10 years of experience in IT, including 3+ years in IT management with proven experience leading and growing teams.
- Strong technical expertise and deep understanding of IT systems and processes, including experience with zero trust security models, Cloud Productivity Suites (preferably Google Workspace), MDM solutions (preferably Kandji), and Identity Providers (preferably Okta).
- Essential experience with hybrid Apple and/or Linux environments; familiarity with these systems is critical for this role. Please note: Candidates with experience exclusively in Windows environments will not meet the requirements.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, focusing on identifying and addressing complex challenges to drive successful project delivery.
- Ability to work autonomously and proactively drive IT strategies and initiatives.
- Preferred experience in managing IT service desks and IT engineering teams.
