Director Asia & Africa – Rabo Partnerships Investment Management
As a Director within Rabo Partnerships Investment Management, you can impact emerging markets through equity investing in (Non-Bank) Financial Institutions, enhance access to finance and financial inclusion, and foster food security and prosperity in rural environments. Your focus is on the Asian (mainly India) and African regions.
You and your job
As a Director, you take the lead on sourcing, execution and managing investment in Asia and Africa, while using your existing network with other investors in these regions. You are also part of the First Line of Responsibility for risk and compliance-related issues. Furthermore, you liaise internally (with other departments) and externally to create and maintain networks to enhance the contribution to the overall banking for food strategy.

Top 3 responsibilities
- Source, negotiate, structure, acquire (or sell) and manage equity stakes in FIs and Non-Bank FIs in line with the mission of Rabo Partnerships
- Act as a sparring partner to the board of our investees in Asia and Africa
- Be the center of expertise with in-depth (investment) market knowledge on Asia and Africa from macro to micro level

You and your talent
- 9+ years of experience in Private Equity, M&A, or consulting. Strong preference for candidates with a private equity background
- An existing impact investment network in the sponsor community in Asia and Africa, with a relevant track record of executing transactions and experience as a board observer/member
- Knowledge of Financial Institutions and Non-Bank Financial Institutions and how they operate is essential
- Stakeholder and relationship management/networking experience and skills, both externally and internally (Risk, Legal, etc.)
- Fluent in English. Fluency in French and languages from the areas of focus is considered a significant plus
- Proven ability to work both independently and as a team player, to work proactively and be self-starting
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with many different cultures and negotiate with diverse stakeholders
