Job Description & Summary

Our organization is continuously evolving and innovating. We are currently transitioning from a traditional BI stack to a cutting-edge data and analytics platform, powered by a medallion architecture and enriched through distributed computing and AI capabilities. To support us on this transformative journey, we are seeking an experienced Data Platform Architect with deep expertise and a passion for our core platforms, Databricks and MS Fabric, operating within an Azure Cloud infrastructure. As a Data Platform Architect, you will play an important role in shaping the future of our data and analytics platform. Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Support meta-data driven design decisions with solid reasoning.
  • Provide logic to the architecture of a distributed compute environment.
  • Contribute to the global roadmap for our Databricks and MS Fabric platforms.
  • Oversee the technical application management of our data and analytics platform.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues to foster their technical development.
  • Act as a thought leader and collaborative partner for Enterprise Data Architecture.
  • Develop technical design scenarios to efficiently manage the team backlog.
  • Identify and manage technical dependencies within the team backlog.

Required Skills and Expertise: 

To excel in this role, you should possess a diverse set of skills and experiences that will enable you to effectively lead and innovate within our data and analytics platform. We are looking for someone who not only has a strong technical background but also a passion for continuous improvement and collaboration. Specifically, you should have: 

  • Bachelor or master degree.
  • Experience in software design and software architecture. 
  • Working with CI/CD processes and an agile release mindset. 
  • Solid experience with Azure Cloud and specifically Azure Databricks. 
  • Skills in testing and building Delta Live tables (DLT) Pipelines. 
  • Expertise in PowerBI refresh optimization. 
  • Experience with coding in (Py)Spark and Python. 
  • High-over understanding of infrastructure, networking and security. 
  • Experience with integration patterns like notifications, REST API, JDBC, and FTP connections. 
  • Competence in data modeling. 
  • Relevant Certifications like Azure and/or Databricks
