Your job

As a API Platform Engineer you are responsible for developing and implementing crucial functionality for the API platform within the DIAL ecosystem. You will work closely with other development engineers, system administrators, and security professionals to ensure that the platform meets ABN AMRO’s needs while adhering to best practices in scalability, reliability, fault tolerance and security.

Working environment

Platforms & Technology is ABN AMRO's Internal (IT) Service Provider and delivers state of the art IT with optimal technology, easy to consume services, and end to end control & oversight.. P&T is a service-based organisation, providing IT to ABN AMRO employees and grids with reliable, in control, business-enabling, easily adaptable and future-proof IT platforms & technologies which can be consumed via self-service mechanism and allow a shorter time to market for (new) functionalities. To become a personal bank in a digital age all departments of Platforms & Technology do their part to deliver a future proof foundation for the IT landscape. The grid Data & Analytics Platform within P&T delivers the platform capabilities related to data and analytics. DIAL provides a data management and governance platform with a principle of interoperability across different patterns e.g. batch, streaming, API and query.

Your profile

We are looking for a colleague with proven experience as a IT Platform Engineer with a focus on API and Azure services.

Technical skills:

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions on the Azure platform
• Proficiency in Azure services, including but not limited to, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Cosmos Database, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Active Directory.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages
• Automating cloud deployments and configuration management using Azure DevOps, PowerShell, and ARM/Bicep templates
• In-depth understanding of networking concepts, including VNETs, VPNs, and load balancers
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Monitor and optimize performance (API response time, CPU usage, error rates)
• Assess and improve our platform architecture 
• Soft Skills : 
• Good knowledge on Agile way of working.
• Fluency in English; Dutch is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
• Proactive, with a collaborative mindset and problem-solving attitude.
• Ability to multitask and maintain a positive attitude.

Note: Out-of-office support - the candidate needs to be willing to be standby outside of regular business hours for at least once a week.
